Reception
Critical Acclaim
‘Shakespeare and churches are a perfect fit, as the history of the words combines with the history of the building to create something extra special.’
– Mind the Blog
‘Macbeth has to veer from nonchalance to guilty anguish and back again within seconds. But when cast and crew are so intent on entertaining the audience, it feels churlish not to enjoy it.’
– The Reviews Hub
‘We had such a good time yesterday. The play is such fun. The actors excellent. We loved it.’
– Joelle, St Mark’s Kennington
‘A lively and imaginative Macbeth where tragedy meets humour in unexpected ways.’
– A Young(ish) Perspective
‘Shakespeare in the Squares have created a very fine storytelling of Macbeth, the adaptation keeps the tale moving and the skills of the multirole playing actors provide aural variation.’
– The Spy in the Stalls
‘Another triumph! To think that it could be done with just five actors, amazing.’
– Bruce, St Paul’s Camden
